Full Spectrum Vs Isolates & Distillates

If you are a CBD user, you have more than likely stumbled across terms such as “full-spectrum” or “Isolates” and “distillates”, and for many – these terms are foreign. The differences between these labels are drastic and should be fully understood to better your CBD experience.

What Are Full-Spectrum, Isolates And Distillates?

Full-spectrum CBD means that the end product contains ALL the compounds, terpenes and flavonoids that come with the hemp plant. Cannabis has over 113 compounds, each with its benefits – and if not all, but most of the cannabinoids will be included in the final product for each element’s unique benefits. These products are generally high in CBD and very low in THC – maintaining the plant’s natural profile and creating a high-quality end product.

CBD isolate is an isolated form of cannabinol (CBD). Before its isolation, CBD is one of many other active ingredients in full-spectrum cannabis oil. Simply put, all of the plant’s natural compounds — except for CBD — are thoroughly removed, leaving CBD as a pure crystalline solid or powder, devoid of any distinct smell or taste.

CBD distillate is a high CBD hemp concentrate that has gone through a distillation process to remove THC while working to keep as much — or as little — of the other cannabinoids and terpenes in the concentrate as possible.

In short, both CBD isolate and CBD distillate is processed to have negligible amounts of THC.

So Which One Do I Choose?

Now you understand what each term means, but which one best suits you and yields the best benefits? We always say that having a product at its peak, most organic and natural form is best, which is why we offer the highest quality full-spectrum CBD products. However, some people much prefer CBD without THC and lean more towards a distillate or isolate.

If you are looking for a product that does not include all the benefits of the entire hemp plant, then isolate is likely the way to go. However, if you are looking to get the most out of your CBD experience, we couldn’t suggest full-spectrum more highly as it includes the pros of 113+ other cannabinoids.

Our approach is holistic, and we hope to extend that ethos to others so that they, too, can benefit from CBD the way they deserve.
